Crazy month at the Ruona home
So this past month it has been a little crazy around here...(AHEM) hence the title "Our Crazy Life". Jim has been gone for dry dock and I have been at home with the kids. The first two weeks were a complete blast since we went to Tennessee (gorgeous) and got to see my cousin and her family for a week. Thank you Dani for opening your home to us girl, I love you guys. Then off to Birmingham we went from there, to break the trip up, and got to spend a few days with my parents (aka Juju and Fink). The boys had such a great little vaca and then we came home. The weekend of Halloween Jim got to come home for the weekend to see us and boy was that a wonderful and fabulous surprise to see his handsome face here. The boys were a hit for Halloween and Drew got TONS of candy. Then back to reality we went as Jim had to leave once again and go back to the ship and the past two weeks have been pretty tough but also rewarding at the same time. I wouldn't trade any of my boys in for anything but all I got to say is I AM SO GLAD THAT HE IS COMING HOME IN A FEW DAYS. ha! The joys of military life, love it some days and other days you could trade it. So thank you to all, you know who you are, for being super great to my family in the past month. Much love! ~Lindsey
gobble gobble gobble
These are the turkey's that Drewbee and Maggles made together yesterday! They turned out so cute! They were both so very proud of their work!!! I am so blessed to have them in my (our) life and I don't know where I would be without their wonderful friendship!! Thanks Jill I love you a lot and you are such a blessing to me and the bestest friend a girl could ever hope for.
GInorMous PumpKin
My little Shepherd at 7 months! Can you believe it is 7 months already since he entered the world?! Jill and myself had a blast doing pictures of the little guy that is for sure! Oh and just to inform everyone Shep's new name from Drew is Bobby. HA! It is just to cute to change for now.
crawling
Yes that is right Mr. Shepherd is finally scooting/crawling around the house!! So exciting but at the same time so very sad that he is moving from the baby stage to another big boy stage. I remember the day he was born and all the feelings that flooded me at the same time when I first got a glimpse of my new little love. Drew started to crawl around this age so it is very neat to see the similarities between the two of them as they grow. So the only thought that is running through my mind is "Hold on Lindsey it's only going to get better from here!" So exciting!!!
Pictures to follow.

famous clown outfit
This clown costume has been in Jim's family for almost 40 years. Jim and his siblings (5 all together) wore this costume that Jim's mom made herself. So since it is a tradition for everyone to wear this while they are small, including all grand kids, this was Shepherd's year. I just posted a side to side of Drew and him at the same age for everyone to see.
Pumpkin Patch 2010
We went to the pumpkin patch with our great friends last night and of course I had to snap some shots of the kids in their costumes while they looked at pumpkins.
What an awesome family!!
costumes
I ended up making Shep's costume which is a sushi roll and I think it turned out pretty cute!
It was actually really simple to make and very budget friendly! Loved every minute of it.
I was going to make Drew be a Chef but he informed me that he wanted to be wow wow wubbzy. I went to the store and bought everything I needed and the costume cost me around $6 to make! I also made him a wubbzy bag for all his candy too.
Once again I had a blast being creative on how to make things! So I hope you enjoyed.

All fours
So yesterday Shepherd got on all fours and also today. Where in the world has time gone???? That is the question that keeps going through my mind. I haven't gotten a snap shot of it yet because it happens way to fast but trust me when I get one it shall be posted.

heading to the park
Today is such a beautiful day to go out and let Drew run around and play, as his little brother just sits. We got up this morning and had breakfast, change out of our PJs, and then we decided to go to the park. Drew L-O-V-E-S the park! When we were in Minnesota this past summer him and his grandpa Ken had a blast on the swings. Drew doesn't refer to it as a swing but a WEE, because that is what you say when you swing! So anyways of course I have to snap a few pictures for everyone to see. Enjoy! We love you all very much.
Drew and a Chick
This past Saturday our family was invited to a very cool birthday party which had a petting zoo. Drew had a blast with all the animals except when it came time to touch them, he totally freaked out. The only animal that he was remotely okay with touching was a little chick. He was so gentle with the little guy that is really just melted my heart. He is such a gentle spirit that is for sure! He treats every 'baby' the same, nice and sweet.
My little Drew is talking more than ever and he has no problem telling me what to do, for instance, 'Sit mama' 'No mama dadday work' Gosh I love the little fella!! It is so cute to hear him say colors (since he makes up all his own words) like purple is dosh?!? I know one day it will change but for now I will sit back and enjoy his little language!
My babies are growing up!!
Today marks the day that Drew is finally 2 1/2 years old. He has turned out to be such a little love to be around and I can not believe that God has entrusted me with this little life. What a honor! He has totally blown any expectations that I may have had away in my book. And what I am talking about is that I didn't realize that is would be this amazing! His little smile just brightens up any room and his laugh will just melt your heart. I am so glad he is all better from the first of the year and trust me he is a typical two old little boy!!
Well I took Shepherd to GI doctor this morning and he is doing great! She said he looks really healthy and happy that is for sure. They want to try him on the formula he was on before the neocate and if he has any symptoms then she wants me to put him back on the formula that he is on now. Also he is weighing in at 23 lbs 6 oz and is 28 1/2 inches long. She said that he is in the 95 percentile in weight and 97 percentile in length for a 15 month old. ha! Too funny!! She said of course if she gave her prediction she would say he would be bigger than Drew but you know how those predictions go. Also he went to his regular doctor today because the poor little guy can't get over whatever he may have, but I know one thing he is teething bad! He has two bottom teeth slowly poking through so lately he is living on tylenol and a lot of lovin :)

Brothers
Today the boys and I were sitting around the house and I decided that it was time to try and attempt to get some pictures with them two together. It actually turned out without an argument from my fascinating two year old Drewbee. So here are pictures of the boys together plus Shepherd's 6 months picture. Gosh I am in love with my camera and my family, so glad I take pictures of these treasured moments of Jim and my life together. I can already see that when Shepherd is up and running Drew will have a time with him ha! Gotta love kids and their wonderfully unique personalities. I sure do love my two little boys!!!

My sweet Drew and little Shepherd
Jim and I have been so blessed with such wonderful and fantastic kids that it is ridiculous! ha. Drew has such an amazing personality and even though he is hitting the 'two' year old attitude problem he is still a sweet sweet boy. The other day I asked him to do something for me like 5 times and his response was "OOoOookay MomMaaaA" Oh how I love that boy. He is a super helper with his brother (AKA BahBo) and loves to entertain the little fella also. So today he was 'entertaining' Shep and I heard high pitch noises and screeching then all of a sudden it was dead silent. I walked into the room and what did I find??? Picture below.
Cheeeeeeeeese
Few snap shots of me and my family from this past weekend. I wish I had more of Drewbee but the little guy was running to fast for me this time!

South Georgia in September
This past weekend we headed down to South Georgia to see my Papa and Nana. What a nice weekend we had with the both of them. They got to ooo and ahhh over the boys and we got to spend some good quality time with my Papa. My Papa isn't doing the best and we felt the need to go and see him hoping it will not be the last time. He is currently on dialysis and he is tired. My Papa has been such a huge stepping stone in our family for our faith. Not only is he a preacher he is such a great example to all of what being faithful to the Lord means. When the day comes and he is passed away it will be sad for us left behind but boy will heaven be having a party!! So I would like to say thanks Papa for making this road for us in our family and I love you very very much!
cake cake cake
So my dear friend Amy came over last night and we made a cake together! I made the cake and iced it and she let her beautiful artistic talent take over! What a fun thing to do while you talk about girl stuff and laugh. I have known Amy for almost 6 years and it has been a great friendship. She has been there for my family many times and I am so grateful to have her in our lives. To Drew and Shepherd she is Aunt Mimi and Drew gets so excited when she comes to visit, too sweet. Great friendships are so hard to come by and boy did I luck out on this one. Thanks Amy for being so good to me!
boy has this happened fast!
new way of life
So Jim and I are finally seeing and it is hitting home that this is our final fall/winter season down in the south. It is very sad to our hearts that a place that we have called home for 6 years is finally drawing to an end. Jim not only pretty much grew into an awesome man here in Mobile but this is where we met, got married, then grew our family by two wonderful kids. It saddens us that we are going to have to leave our best friend Paul and Jill and little Maggie next year but at the same time we are excited to see where God will send us next. This is going to be a great chapter and we are anxious at the same time to see what all will happen with our growing family!
new day
me and my man
Can you believe that we have approached September already? It completely blows my mind that I have a 2 1/2 year old and a soon be 6 month old! Between shots and GI visits this month I say let's get them done!! Not only am I mother to two fabulous boys, I am also a proud wife to a Coast Guard man. Our life is so hectic between the boys appointments and Jim's schedule that our schedule is pretty much unpredictable! So let's put our fast pace shoes on and see what the Lord has for us this month!

Photography
So I have taken up and love photography! What a fun and wonderful hobby to have while you have such a great looking family! I decided last November to start taking pictures since so many commented on how fabulous they looked. Since the nickname 'bug' stuck with me since I have been little I decided to name it 'Bug Photography'. I have had many opportunities to photograph some wonderful people and families and I want to thank everyone for all your support. If you have facebook look me up under Bug Photography and if not then check out my other blog dedicated to my passion at www.bug-photography.blogspot.com.
Enjoy!!!
Blessed with two wonderful boys
So my life is filled with long days and nights but wouldn't change it for anything. I have been truly blessed with two fabulous little boys and one wonderful man! What more can a girl ask for that is my question! Wanted to post a picture of the boys when they were itty bitty and how those days fly by so quickly!
August 2010
So Shepherd James is now 5 months old and growing and strong! He actually weighs in at 24 pounds and is wearing 12-18 months clothing at the time. He is not my 'little' baby anymore but inside his little mind is is a little guy and I love it! I love his smiles!! His smile just brights up any day. Since he is mine of course I would have to take a picture of him for conquering five months. Also he is starting to show two little teeth on the bottom and to me this is happening way to fast!!
Drew is doing awesome! His vocabulary has really improved in the past few weeks and it is absolutely amazing to see! We took Drew to an ear doctor at the beginning of the month and they were telling me that his ear drum wasn't contracting right and that could be his problem and that we will need to come back in November to test him again. They also stated that he needs to go to speech therapy to see if that would help so off we went this past week. Man is it hard to get in with a speech pathologist, that's for sure! Anyways the lady told us that Drew was extremely smart and the problem he is having is breaking his words apart. He is saying full sentences we just can't understand a word of it. She told us that it was completely up to us if we want to continue or not so we haven't quite decided at this point. Drew is such a little sweetheart that is for sure!
